As a homeowner, there are several items to consider before purchasing a large tree.

Do you have equipment to lift the trees off of a trailer?

All of our trees are grown in the ground. When we harvest them, we use a machine (tree spade) to dig them and then put them in a wire basket, with burlap. We then use a machine (large Bobcat skid-steer) to pick them up and put them on a trailer. The back of a truck is not recommended. As a result, the trees are extremely heavy – approximately 1000 lbs.

When you get the tree to your destination, how are you going to off load the tree?

We deliver trees but we do not provide the equipment required to unload your tree. You, the purchaser, will need to unload the tree off the trailer. If we deliver the tree, you will have 30 minutes to get it. After that, there will be a surcharge of $100 per hour.

Do you have the commitment to water it daily for 1 ½ years?

With a larger tree, it takes approximately 1 ½ years for the tree to become re-established meaning,  it takes that long for the tree to grow enough roots to sustain its water needs. As a result, you will have to water the tree daily for a 1 ½ years. Our suggestion is to purchase an inexpensive hose timer along with a microjet mister (Lowe’s and Home Depot have them.)

Have you made a decision or looking at different options?

We are a wholesale tree farm. Our customers buy in large quantities and know what they want. We sell the trees at wholesale price. If you know what you want, then we will gladly sell to you at a wholesale price and allow you to pick out your tree. If you are unsure about your purchase, and need more assistance picking a tree, then there will be a 25% surcharge, subject to our time availability.

Who do you want to plant your tree?

Due to several issues discussed above, you may want someone else to plant your tree. If you would like recommendations, we can gladly provide that information.

Purchasing and planting a large tree is not a common occurrence and while we want to share our trees with all, it is best that you consider the above questions before taking that step. Head over to our contact us page if you have any other questions.
